Co-Location Shelter Fundamentals (Formerly CAMET Training)

Would you like to volunteer your time to assist animals during emergencies and disasters? This
training covers the basics of co-location pet sheltering, contents of the CAMET and uses of the
CAMET’s equipment, as well as CAST (Companion Animal Shelter Trailer) operations. Join us to
learn more! SKYWARN Weather Spotter training (by NWS meteorologist) will follow.

This course will train volunteers and emergency response personnel on the legal responsibilities for companion animal sheltering during emergencies, essential skills needed to set up an emergency animal shelter and how to utilize the Companion Animal Mobile Equipment Trailer (CAMET) and Companion Animal Shelter Trailer (CAST). Training will be divided into a a lecture format and a hands-on exercise.  Participants active in shelter planning and operations are encouraged to attend.  Participants are also encouraged to wear comfortable clothing for the hands-on portion.

Approved for 4 CE credits for veterinarians and veterinary technicians.
